What Beforehand is

Beforehand generates research-based reports to help you decide whether a used car is worth inspecting or buying. It is decision-support only.

No guarantee — important

Beforehand is not a professional pre-purchase inspection, mechanic’s assessment, valuation, or legal/financial advice. Reports are generated from the information you provide and automated research, which can be incomplete or wrong. We do not guarantee a vehicle’s condition, safety, history, value, or that any issue (or absence of issues) is accurate. Always obtain an independent inspection and a PPSR/VIN, recall and ownership check before buying. Any decision you make is your own.

Your account

You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must give accurate information and be at least 16 years old. You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete account or via our deletion page.

Acceptable use

• Don’t misuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to break or reverse-engineer the Service.
• Don’t use it for unlawful purposes or submit content you don’t have the right to submit.
• We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that abuse the Service.

Free and paid use

We offer a number of free reports and may offer paid plans or report packs. Any purchases are processed by the relevant app store and subject to its terms. Free limits, prices and features may change.

Intellectual property

The Service, its design and content are owned by us. You keep ownership of the listing details you submit and may use the reports you generate for your own personal car-buying decisions.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”, and we exclude all warranties not expressly stated. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on a report or your decision to buy, inspect, or pass on a vehicle.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
